Terms of Use
Low FODMAP Recipes: IBS Diet
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the Low FODMAP Recipes: IBS Diet app ("FODMAP Recipes").
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Low FODMAP Recipes: IBS Diet mobile application (the "App") provided by Lion, LLC ("Lion," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. About the App
FODMAP Recipes is a recipe app for people following the low FODMAP diet, including people managing IBS. It contains the recipe library published at fodmaptracker.com, which you can browse, search, and narrow by dietary preference (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, or nut-free). Each ingredient links to its general FODMAP rating from the fodmaptracker.com food index, and the App includes favorites, a grocery list, and offline access. The App does not require an account or login. Its features are unlocked by a paid upgrade: an auto-renewable subscription, which may begin with a free trial, or a one-time lifetime purchase (see Section 6, "Subscriptions and Purchases"). It is designed as an educational tool.
2. Eligibility
The App is intended for users aged 18 and older. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
3. License
Lion grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App strictly in accordance with these Terms.
4. Medical and Nutritional Disclaimer
The App is provided solely for educational and informational purposes. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, nutritional counseling, or professional healthcare services.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Recipes in the App are educational content, not medical or dietary advice, and are not tailored to your individual condition
- Ingredient ratings are general information. The FODMAP content of a food can vary based on serving size, ripeness, variety, preparation, and individual sensitivity
- Individual tolerance varies. A recipe or ingredient described as low FODMAP, or shown under a dietary preference, may still not be suitable for you
- The information in the App should not be relied upon for medical or health-related decisions
- You should always consult a qualified healthcare professional, such as your doctor or a FODMAP-trained dietitian, regarding dietary changes, medical conditions, or symptoms
- The App does not create a doctor-patient or other professional relationship between you and Lion, LLC
Dietary filters and labels in the App (such as "Dairy Free" or "Gluten Free") are derived automatically from each recipe's ingredient list and are provided as a convenience. They can be incomplete, inaccurate, or incorrect, and they do not account for cross-contamination, substitutions, optional ingredients, or the specific products you use. Always check a recipe's ingredients and the labels of the products you buy, and verify with a qualified professional if you have an allergy or a medical dietary restriction.
4.1 AI-Generated Answers (Ask AI)
Ask AI uses an artificial-intelligence service to answer questions about a dish or ingredient list you describe, including which ingredients are commonly considered high FODMAP and what swaps people usually make. AI-generated content can contain mistakes. Where the fodmaptracker.com food database recognizes an ingredient, its rating comes from that database, not from the AI; an ingredient the database does not recognize may be described by the AI and can be wrong. You are responsible for checking that every ingredient and swap suits your own needs and tolerances and for following safe food-handling practices. Ask AI answers are general information, not medical or nutritional advice, and the disclaimer in this Section 4 applies to them in full. Ask AI is subject to fair-use limits on the number of questions you can ask, which we may change at any time.
5. Health and App Store Compliance
The App is a general wellness and educational tool only. It is not a medical device and is not regulated, cleared, or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory authority.
The App:
- Does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- Does not claim to prevent, cure, or treat any disease or medical condition
- Does not replace professional medical consultation
If you believe you may have a medical condition or are experiencing a health emergency, contact a qualified healthcare professional or emergency services immediately.
6. Subscriptions and Purchases
Use of the App requires a paid upgrade: an auto-renewable subscription, which may begin with a free trial for eligible first-time subscribers, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Plans and price: The upgrade is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, at the prices shown in the App (pricing may vary by region and is confirmed at the time of purchase). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
- Free trial: Subscription plans may include a free trial. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and generally applies to first-time subscribers. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription at the applicable rate. If you are not eligible for a trial, payment is charged upon confirmation of purchase. The lifetime purchase does not include a trial.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. The lifetime purchase is a single payment and does not renew.
- Managing your subscription: You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your device's App Store account settings after purchase.
- Restoring purchases: If you reinstall the App or use another device with the same Apple ID, you can restore an active subscription or lifetime purchase from within the App.
- Refunds: Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/, also applies to your use of the App to the extent it does not conflict with these Terms.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, data, features, and intellectual property related to the App, including the recipes, photographs, and food ratings, are owned by Lion, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without prior written consent.

11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lion, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, health outcomes, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
In no event shall Lion's total liability exceed one hundred dollars ($100 USD).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lion, LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
13. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. You agree to waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to [email protected] within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. For disputes not subject to arbitration, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located within the State of Illinois.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lion regarding the App.
