This Privacy Policy explains how Lion, LLC ("Lion," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use the Histamine Tracker mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is part of and subject to our Terms of Use.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you voluntarily provide when using the Service, including but not limited to:

• Food entries, symptoms, feelings, activities, sleep data, supplements, or other wellness-related notes
• Free-form text, tags, or journal-style entries
• Photos taken via the in-app camera feature ("Scan Food"), used only to identify food items and not retained after processing
• Communications you send to us (e.g., support inquiries)

You are not required to provide medical diagnoses or personally identifiable health information unless you choose to do so.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:

• Device type, operating system, app version
• Usage data (screens viewed, features used, timestamps)
• Crash logs and performance diagnostics

This data is used to operate, maintain, and improve the Service.

1.3 Health and Wellness Data

Information you enter related to foods, symptoms, supplements, sleep, or activities may be considered health or wellness data. This data is collected only at your direction and is used solely to provide the Service's features.

The Service is a wellness and self-tracking tool, not a medical service.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service
• Generate summaries, insights, or correlations (including AI-generated insights)
• Maintain account functionality and app performance
• Respond to inquiries and provide support
• Monitor usage patterns to improve user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

3. AI and Data Processing

The Service uses third-party artificial intelligence services to analyze user-provided data in order to generate educational insights, summaries, or correlations. These services currently include:

• Anthropic (Claude) — primary AI provider
• OpenAI (GPT) — fallback AI provider

Camera and Image Data

The "Scan Food" feature lets you take a photo within the app to identify food items. When you use this feature:

• Your photo is compressed and sent to an AI service (Anthropic or OpenAI) solely to identify the foods or ingredients shown
• Images are not stored — they are processed in memory and discarded immediately after food identification is complete
• Only the resulting text (a list of identified foods) is retained and used to generate your insight; the image itself is never saved to our servers or your account
• Camera access requires your explicit permission, which you can revoke at any time in your device's Settings

Text Entry and Report Data

When you generate an AI report, the text of your food, symptom, supplement, and activity entries is sent to one of these providers for analysis. No personally identifying information (such as your name or device ID) is included — entries are transmitted using only an anonymous identifier.

• AI processing is automated and probabilistic, not clinical
• Outputs are educational only and not medical advice
• AI systems may process text entries to identify patterns

We do not use your personal entries to train AI models. Any AI features use pre-trained models and process your data only to generate insights for you.

We do not use your data to make medical decisions or diagnoses.

We may change AI service providers in the future. This Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect any such changes.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal or health-related data.

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With service providers who help operate the Service (e.g., hosting, analytics), under confidentiality obligations
• If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of Lion, our users, or others

Third-party services we use may include:

• Cloud hosting providers (Supabase)
• Analytics services
• AI processing services (Anthropic, OpenAI)
• Subscription management (RevenueCat)
• Payment processors (via Apple App Store)

5. Data Retention

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to:

• Provide the Service
• Fulfill the purposes described in this Policy
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

You may delete your account and all associated data directly within the app (Profile > Account > Delete Account). You may also request deletion by contacting us at the email listed below, subject to applicable legal requirements.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Delete your account and all data directly within the app
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent where applicable

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. EU residents may have rights under GDPR. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework or access the device's advertising identifier (IDFA).

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.

10. International Users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other jurisdictions.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
